What changed
- The first public release.
- Connections go peer to peer where the network allows it. Where it does not, a relay carries them and only ever sees encrypted bytes: the picture, the keystrokes and the clipboard are end-to-end encrypted either way.
- One account, one list of computers. The desktop app, the iPhone app and the Android app share the same saved machines and folders.
- A device is linked by typing an eight-character code. No account password is stored on any machine, and a device can be revoked on its own from the web console.
- There is no unattended access. Somebody has to be at the other computer to let you in, and that is a decision rather than a missing feature.
- The macOS build is for Apple silicon, signed and notarised, so it opens without a Gatekeeper warning. There is no Intel build.
Checking what you downloaded
Every file has a SHA-256 below. Compare it with the one your own computer works out, and you know you have the file we built rather than one somebody put in its place.

Windows will warn you
Windows has not seen enough copies of this build to have an opinion about it, so it says the publisher is unknown. Choose More info, then Run anyway. This happens for every new release, and the checksum above is how you confirm the file rather than trusting the dialog.
On macOS, open it the first time from the menu
Hold Control, click DeskPair, and choose Open. macOS asks once and remembers. DeskPair also needs Screen Recording permission before it can share this computer's screen, and asks for that the first time it is used that way.
On a phone or tablet
The phone apps control a computer; they do not let a phone be controlled.
