Every file has a SHA-256 below. Compare it with the one your own computer works out, and you know you have the file we built rather than one somebody put in its place.

On Windows, the installer or the zip

The installer (.msi) puts DeskPair in Program Files, on the Start menu and in Settings › Apps, where it can be removed again; when a new version comes out, the app installs it for you once an administrator approves. The .zip needs no installing: unpack it anywhere, run DeskPair.exe, and it updates itself. To install on many computers at once, with no questions asked:

Windows may still warn you

The Windows downloads are signed by Syno Compute X LLC. Until SmartScreen has seen a new release often enough to know it, Windows may still stop it with a warning: choose More info, check that the publisher reads Syno Compute X LLC, then Run anyway. The checksum above confirms the file itself.

On macOS, open it the first time from the menu

Hold Control, click DeskPair, and choose Open. macOS asks once and remembers. DeskPair also needs Screen Recording permission before it can share this computer's screen, and asks for that the first time it is used that way.

On Linux, the package for your distribution

Install the .deb, .rpm or Arch package with your distribution's own tools, and DeskPair appears among your applications. When a new version comes out, the app says so, and you install the new package the same way. The .tar.gz works on any distribution: unpack it anywhere, run DeskPair, and it updates itself.
